Hello,
I am new to this forum. I've never done this before and I'm likely never to do it again. But as a woman, a sister, an aunt with 4 nieces, as a friend of Sarah Bloom's, I think it's important.
I'd like to ask for your help. My good friend Sarah Bloom is a photographer and she wants to capture portraits of women to remind us to recognize, to acknowledge, to see the beauty in ourselves. Because being female is NOT synonymous with being insecure. Because it shouldn't be.
Because we want our daughters, nieces, students, - really, everyone - to recognize their own beauty and worth. Just as they are.
Wouldn't it be an emancipation - if no one ever wondered whether they were acceptable / love-able / WHOLE based on how they appear to others?
Sarah’s photo dream proposal needs to be in the Top 20 today so it will be considered for the prize.
Sarah wants to use the award to photograph women. Sarah's completed multiple years of daily self portraits. She's photographed women and written about her experiences. She's got a voice, she's got heart and dedication. Sarah wants to do this work more than anything. If you don't know Sarah, you should visit her Flickr stream.
I have no doubt that if she is given the chance to work on this project that she will positively impact the lives of women and girls, that she will once again transform herself through work and growth and that she will be an inspiration to many.
Please vote for her photo dream project.
