My heart sat at the river bend She sang through her water-filled veins a soft hymn Which I have been deaf to this concert of the ages -- never to end Thus she continued her melodious song with a mischevious grin
My soul lingered upon the river bend An Ave of humanity broke through my lips Stripped was I of mortal clothing, no seam to mend And the wind played its harp against the grove -- it teased and softly nipped
Comrade of nature -- the whisper of the wood Beckoned me to enter her Edenic grandeur To sit upon her pews of grass and her bibles of oral food Child of nature was I then -- thought self feeling-gratifying self as pure
Floral blood as wine and soil as bread I had consumed Trees whispered and hummed age-old salvation chants to the open ear Brought to me a new element beyond pleasure, beyond common instinct heightened Thus such transformation conceived in her womb of trees - humanity mere

Well thank you Holly! At first I thought it was one of the best poems I've ever written but that I look back on it, it's mediocre, it could definitely be better.
