Sometimes I need to take a reality check and appreciate what I have ...so... everyday take one thing you are thankful for (family...job...your cat...your beatiful eyes...the sun) and tell yourself over and over how lucky you are to have it. It is also very uplifting to concentrate on one thing a day you really like about yourself (your compassion, your bellybutton, your laugh, your smile) ..everyone has them ... and I bet when you take time to think about it you have lots more than just one... Enjoy your day...you'll never get this one back.. ;D

Hey Stacy girl
Since I moved to Florida, I smell the air every day. The tropical smell is so euphoric that it is addicting, not to mention mind clearing!! You are so right about how we tend to look at our surroundings as wallflowers. It is human unfortunately, and to be human is to error!!
Hugzzz u girl!!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D What makes my day is a very good cup of coffee and this site. I wish I could come in here everyday but life keeps me busy. And also sunshine warming me up is a very nice way to go to work.

I say a prayer of thanks EVERY night. Some nights the list seems endless, other nights it is longer than I expected. But each night I have something to be greatful for. <smile>
But my daily smiles come from getting in a warm car, watching my dog lay on her back in the grass and kick her legs from pure joy, and just looking around. Yesterday I was stuck in a trafic line. I looked to my left and realized my eyes were at ground level. And at that viewpoint the grasses swaying in the breeze and the two butterflies zooming in and out seemed like a gift made just for me at that moment.

This has brought up SO MANY thoughts. Today I got to talk to a friend in Connecticut, which means that I have a phone and enough money to pay a penny a minute for long distance. I have a ride to an NA meeting tonight. It's raining and I love the smell of rain, actually the smell of water but around here you can only smell it when it rains. Little Hailey came over to see me today, she's a new "granddaughter" (the quotes are because her Mom and my son aren't actually married). I got a LOT of email from ladies around the world who know and love me. I could keep going, but I won't.
Love, Diane

I have a very guilty pleasure that can make my whole day better. I love to leave the house super early and go to the tanning salon. especially on a rainy dreary day. It gives me 12 minutes entirely to myself to imagine i am soaking up real sun on the beach and forget all unpleasent things, the fat, the blemishes, money, everything. I know, tanning is bad. I said it was a guilty pleasure. You were warned! ;D
